We are thrilled to announce a significant update for The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria™ on PlayStation 5, introducing a host of new features, improvements, and fixes.
One standout feature is the addition of Japanese language support, available on both PS5 and PC versions. Players can now immerse themselves in the game with Japanese text.
Enhancements include better map visualization, real-time difficulty adjustments, improved building and restoration mechanics, new decorations, and a more immersive combat experience. Adjusting difficulty settings in real-time is a game-changer. Whether you’re a solo player or part of a group, you can now fine-tune the difficulty to suit your needs, with four preset levels and customizable settings. The updated map features color-coded biomes, improved visualization of adjacent environments, and reduced visual noise, making navigation more intuitive. Additionally, two new colorblind options enhance map legibility.
Building and decorating your bases has also been improved. The update reworks building blocks for consistency, introduces shortcuts for building and deconstructing, and adds new decorative objects and furnishings, allowing players to bring their architectural visions to life more easily.
Players who enjoy the game with friends will benefit from improved network and save game stability. Network issues preventing players from joining online games have been resolved, and the save game system has been fortified to prevent data loss. Menu navigation has also been enhanced. Additionally, solo players in offline mode can now pause the game by navigating to the Settings tab.
Combat mechanics have been refined for more weight and satisfaction, with increased knockback, enhanced visual and sound effects, and adjustments to enemy aggression. These changes make every battle feel impactful. Horde and siege encounters have been fine-tuned for more intense and rewarding experiences. New ambient music, high-tension battle music, and improved sound effects for various actions and environments have been added, bringing the world to life and making every moment more immersive.
Along with the PS5 release, a minor patch for the PC harmonizes both versions under the same release number, 1.2.1. Cross-platform enhancements include various fixes to online game sessions and numerous bug fixes, enhancing the overall experience.
